What an Imaging Engineer II does
At this level you are the primary engineer for a set of imaging systems, often including CT along with radiography, fluoroscopy, mammography or ultrasound. Imaging Engineer IIs handle scheduled maintenance and calibration, diagnose complex hardware and software faults, manage parts and manufacturer escalations, and keep radiology informed about downtime. Many roles cover more than one facility or a regional territory.
Typical qualifications
Employers usually look for several years of imaging service experience, manufacturer training on one or more modalities, and solid networking and PACS/DICOM troubleshooting skills. The AAMI CRES certification is valued, and a valid driver’s license is often required for multi-site roles.
