What an Imaging Engineer III does
Senior imaging engineers own advanced modalities such as CT, MRI, interventional and cardiovascular systems, and nuclear medicine. Beyond service and calibration, they lead complex troubleshooting, support new installations and upgrades, advise on replacement planning, and mentor less experienced engineers. They are often the technical link between the imaging department, physicists, IT and manufacturers.
Typical qualifications
These roles typically call for extensive imaging service experience, manufacturer training on advanced modalities, and the ability to work independently across sites. The AAMI CRES certification is often preferred.
