What do field service engineers do?
Field service engineers and technicians install, maintain and repair medical equipment at customer sites, usually across an assigned territory. Employers include equipment manufacturers, independent service organizations (ISOs) and HTM service companies. A typical week can include installations, preventive maintenance visits, emergency repairs, customer training and detailed service reports, and many roles include a company vehicle.

Is field service right for you?
Field service suits technicians who like variety, work well independently and enjoy working with customers. Experience as a BMET is a common starting point, and manufacturer training adds expertise on specific systems.
