What a Field Service Engineer II does
At the II level, field engineers manage customer accounts and service schedules within a territory with little day-to-day supervision. They handle complex repairs and installations, coordinate parts and escalations, train customer staff, and often support newer engineers in the field.
Typical qualifications
Expect to need several years of field or in-house medical equipment service, manufacturer training on the systems you’ll support, and strong customer communication skills. Travel and a valid driver’s license are standard.
